What Is KANJI QUEST?
KANJI QUEST is a small web service that helps you discover the kanji — Japanese characters — that best fits your name and personality.
It's not just a translation. It's a journey.
Each kanji carries centuries of meaning: nature, strength, clarity, harmony. KANJI QUEST finds the one that resonates with who you are.
How It Works
- Enter your name.
- The journey begins — a series of questions and revelations.
- Your kanji is revealed, along with its meaning.
- Download your kanji as a beautifully crafted SVG + PNG design. ($8)
Who Made This?
KANJI QUEST was created by Kutouten（くとうてん） — a small Japanese design studio based in Aomori, in northern Japan.
We work with Japanese typography and cultural craft. This service grew from a simple question: what if people outside Japan could experience the depth of kanji, not just the characters?
Aomori is far from Tokyo — closer to the mountains and the sea. That distance shapes how we work: quietly, carefully, and with intention.
Going Further
